Joseph Sperber is a professional writer and director with experience in narrative productions ranging in feature films, short films, commercials, and music videos. Growing up in Chicago, Joey developed a passion and skill in storytelling early on through writing and directing short films as a high school student. His background in cinematography and directing led him to win the MMEA award for his public service announcement on mental health. Having now graduated from Loyola Marymount University as Film and Television Production/Political Science double-major, Joey has worked professionally with numerous production companies in roles regarding pre-production, production, and post-production to garner a thorough knowledge of what it takes to make a powerful film from start to finish. Joey recently completed the proof of concept film for his feature film, Careful With That Axe, Eugene which is currently in development. The script has been reviewed as "a witty, clever comedy, with subtle allusions to the meaning of free will,” as reviewed by Shore Film Fund.
